Project Brief

• To supply and install PTZ remote head cameras with a controller to assist the matchday operation team with the playout schedule.  It should both provide an alternative broadcast view to help with the operations of the studio and be an alternative input for the big screens.

Fulfilment

• Provided a demo unit to provide a proof of concept prior to the customer committing funds.
• Supplied and installed HD Panasonic PTZ cameras with all weather cases that included heating and cooling.
• Cabled HD Video Source and connected to existing switcher equipment providing ability to use this feed for live play out on the big screens.
• PTZ controller installed for use by studio staff

Evaluation

• The PTZ cameras continue to be an important tool during the matchday operation. In addition to being used as live camera sources for the big screen, the cameras enable the team to ascertain when teams are ready for field entrance and any substitutions. They provide the club flexibility to use as separate sources instead of relying on the host broadcaster’s camera feed. This ensures they are in control of what is displayed within the stadium bowl to their own supporters.
• The number of cameras has grown over the years and have proved to be very reliable, the first installed has been without a single fault since 2016.
