Project Brief

• Design and install a matchday operations gallery to fulfill all aspects of the clubs matchday entertainment requirements (scoreboard, concourse IPTV, suite IPTV, perimeter LED, DJ, match commentary, press screens and club staff). Consideration needed to be given to staff positions, communications and workflow.
• Advanced technical ability to display scoreboard with clock, multiple video sources, roving camera feeds, graphical dynamic feeds such as substitutions, league tables and match statistics.
• Ensuring fan engagement within the stadium bowl and concourse TV areas, live TV channels alongside digital signage and data feeds to be displayed.

Fulfilment

• CAD drawings were presented to the client providing a number of options for all operational work spaces.
• Schematic drawings provided for as built hardware locations (rack cabinets) and cabling.
• Network based hardware to ensure minimal cabling was required within the Gallery.
• Provided a system that allowed for future expansion and flexibility. 
• Simple scoreboard operation and switcher mixing between scoreboard layouts (full screen and split screen).
• Converter equipment installed to enable third party sources such as live broadcast (OB) providers and VAR feeds.
• Software sources to produce and playout live, such as match highlights, replays and team line ups.
• PTZ remote head cameras and controller to provide the Gallery more camera angles to assist with the matchday playout schedule.
• IPTV headend, media players and HD encoders installed.
• Live OB delay hardware installed as video source option for press reporter and commentator screens.
• Multiview’s were added to provide more sources to be visible on Gallery screens.
• Recording Decks added to capture full match recording and assist playout.
• Hardware installed to store and archive match recordings and other video and image content.
• Fully redundant IPTV server and UPS to ensure reliability.

Evaluation

• The installed Gallery covers all aspects of the matchday operation. With multiple sources and switching available to the operators, Fulham have the ability to keep their fan base entertained and easily add any future requirements the Premier League or FA require them to adhere to.
